Rules and exemptions for the recovery of a used vehicle from a consumer by Auto Durocher

1- Payment Method:

    1. Payment for the trade-in will be made by check, not cash. This is to avoid any confusion regarding payment terms.
    2. If a customer owes an amount to a creditor in connection with a car loan, Auto Durocher undertakes to reimburse the lien directly to the creditor, but only if the amount owed is less than the asking price for the vehicle. The lien amount will be paid to the creditor, and the remaining balance will be remitted to the customer.
    3. Under no circumstances will Auto Durocher remit the entire amount to the customer to settle the loan themselves. This is to ensure that there is no longer a lien on the vehicle in the RDPRM (Register of Personal and Movable Real Rights).
    4. If the amount owed to the creditor is greater than the amount paid for the vehicle, the customer will be required to pay the difference to Auto Durocher at the time of the transaction to cover the remaining balance.

2- Check Delivery Time:

    1. Auto Durocher undertakes to deliver a check to the buyer within thirty (30) minutes, provided that all necessary checks for the vehicle purchase have been completed. These checks include:
      • Verification of the RDPRM (Register of Personal and Movable Real Rights).
      • Obtaining all necessary documents, provided by the customer, regarding the vehicle.
      • Mechanical Inspection: If a problem is detected during the initial inspection of the vehicle, for example, a light on the dashboard, Auto Durocher reserves the right to conduct a mechanical inspection to confirm the vehicle’s condition. This may delay the check delivery time until the inspection is complete and all necessary checks have been completed.

3- Electric Vehicles:
    1. For electric vehicles,Auto Durocher requires that the customer provide proof of battery charging capacity.If the customer does not have this proof, Auto Durocher reserves the right to offer a battery inspection at its own mechanical workshop.Additional fees may apply for this inspection.

4- Online Transaction:

  1. It is possible to complete the transaction entirely online. However, the customer agrees to:
    • Provide all verifiable information regarding the vehicle (mechanical, aesthetic, body damage, windshield, etc.).
    • Make all declarations regarding mechanical defects, aesthetic, body damage, potential problems, or any other aspect of the vehicle.
    • Provide complete and detailed photos of the vehicle, including all significant areas and any visible damage.
  2. No surprises upon collection: The customer must ensure that there are no surprises when Auto Durocher collects the vehicle at home. If undeclared items are discovered upon collection, this could result in a review of the trade-in amount or a rejection of the transaction.

5- Home Pickup by Auto Durocher:

    1. Auto Durocher undertakes to recover the vehicle within a minimum radius of 30 km and a maximum of 300 km around its location at 12,000 rue de l’Avenir in Mirabel, provided the vehicle is 2018 or newer, with less than 150,000 km and without major issues.
    2. Auto Durocher reserves the right to recover only the vehicles it chooses to purchase, at its sole discretion.

6- Consumer Commitment:

    1. Theconsumer agrees to provide the necessary documents when selling their vehicle, including:
        • Registering the vehicle in their name.
        • A copy of your driver’s license or a photo ID.
        • The vehicle keys.
        • The vehicle itself in good condition for the trade-in.

7- Additional Conditions:

    1. Auto Durocher reserves the right to refuse a vehicle if the above-mentioned conditions are not met or if the vehicle has additional defects not disclosed by the customer.

8- Advertising and Promotion:

    1. When advertising any financial promotion,
    2. Auto Durocher undertakes to take back all vehicles from 2017 and newer, with some exceptions. As part of these offers (promotions), the additional amount of the proposed promotion may be added to the vehicle’s trade-in value.
    3. However, exceptions apply, particularly for vehicles under the following conditions:
      • Vehicles that have been in serious accidents.
      • Vehicles that are no longer roadworthy.
      • Vehicles with major mechanical or bodywork problems.
      • Vehicles with a market value of less than $1,000.
