Roulez vert, the Quebec government’s financial assistance program for electric vehicles, has been winding down for a few years: the amounts were cut roughly in half in 2026, and the program officially ends on December 31, 2026. As of January 1, 2027, no provincial subsidy will remain for the purchase of an electric vehicle, new or used.<\/p>\n

The rule that changes everything: the registration date<\/h2>\n

This is the detail too many buyers discover too late: eligibility and the rebate amount are determined by the date the vehicle is registered in your name<\/strong>, not by the date of the order, the deposit or the contract signature.<\/p>\n

Concretely, a vehicle ordered in December 2026 but registered in January 2027 receives nothing. For a used vehicle in stock, the risk is low since delivery happens within days, but it grows as year-end approaches and applications pile up.
